Position: Postdoctoral Fellow in Pediatrics

Duties: A postdoctoral fellowship position is immediately available to study the molecular mechanisms that modulate cardiogenesis. We use mouse as the model system and are particularly interested in how basic Helix-loop-Helix transcription factors regulate heart formation, their roles in human congenital heart diseases, and how their function within myocardium, endocardium, epicardium, and the neural crest cells that compose the heart allow coordination of these cell types to define functional contraction, conduction, outflow tract, and chamber patency. The position offers a unique opportunity for a talented scientist to work in a dynamic and innovative environment. The lab is well funded and postdoctoral career development to independence is a primary goal of this position
Requirements: Doctorate or terminal degree required; PhD and/or MD and expertise in molecular, cell and developmental biology and/or biochemistry

The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research (http://www.wellscenter.iupui.edu/) has ongoing collaborative programs in molecular oncology and experimental therapeutics, cardiac developmental biology, diabetes, hematologic malignancies and stem cell biology, cardiovascular genetics and infectious disease and global health.
