Position: Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Wind Energy
Institution: University of Oxford
Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom
Duties: The successful applicant will join a research programme on the fluid mechanics of offshore renewable energy, with a particular focus on wind energy. You will perform computational fluid dynamics simulations of wind turbines to understand their steady and unsteady loading and performance in a range of operating and atmospheric conditions relevant to the offshore environment. This will lead to the development of improved engineering models, and contribute to the group’s overall efforts in rotor fluid mechanics
Requirements: You should hold a relevant PhD (or be near completion) and have a strong publication history. A strong background in computational fluid dynamics together with the ability to understand the aerodynamics of wind energy generation and atmospheric flows is essential
