Position: Head of Research IT Unit

Requirements: At least eight years of professional experience with three to five years of significant, practical experience and successful implementation of research IT projects; Solid professional experience in the fields of science and academic research (in particular data structuring, quantitative sciences, big data, laboratory and medical research); Understanding of the IT requirements for performing clinical research (GCP ICH R2), including the regulatory requirements associated with clinical trials (EDC, CTMs and QMS); Consolidated experience in project management, ideally in an international and interdisciplinary context, as well as Prince2 and/or PMI certification complete your profile
   
Text: Head of Research IT Unit (80%-100%) The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low- and middle-income countries. Associated with the University of Basel, Swiss TPH combines research, education and services at local, national and international levels. 900 people from 80 nations work at Swiss TPH focusing on infectious and non-communicable diseases, environment, society and health as well as health systems and interventions. To further develop projects for the support of the Institute's diverse scientific activities, we are seeking an individual for the post of Head of Research IT Unit (80%-100%) You will lead the search for emerging technologies related to IT solutions and facilitate their adoption. Your vocation is the identification of innovations and process optimizations and implementing these using suitable technologies. With your analytical skills, you are able to identify the needs of our researchers quickly and formulate these clearly. Performing these tasks requires experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to implement client requirements in a goal-oriented and sustainable fashion in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
