Position: Research Fellowship in Astrophysics

Duties: Applications are invited for a 5-year postdoctoral research fellowship in the Astronomy and Astrophysics Section at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS). This “DIAS Research Fellowship in Astrophysics” is a fixed term contract and presents a unique opportunity for a talented researcher to pursue research questions of interest to them, in an institute with a track record and culture of excellence, independent critical enquiry and innovative frontier research
Requirements: Candidates should have a PhD and a proven record as independent researchers in one of the following areas of study (or a closely related field): Space Plasma Physics, Magnetospheric Physics, Heliospheric Physics, Planetary Science, Data-intensive Space Science, Machine Learning. Appointment will be on the basis of a fixed-term contract up to five years. The Fellow will work independently but will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with research groups within the Astronomy & Astrophysics Section at DIAS, in particular the Planetary Magnetospheres group. The Fellow will be based primarily at the DIAS Dunsink Observatory
