Position: Associate Professor or Professor in Mathematics and/or Statistics

Duties: We are seeking to appoint an individual with a programme of exceptional research in mathematical and/or statistical analysis of living systems. We are looking for research that develops and applies high dimensional data analysis techniques to understand mechanisms underpinning biological systems. These techniques may include topological data analysis, statistical and/or machine learning approaches. The post-holder will foster collaborations across a range of topics represented in the LSI, including for example, cell state transitions, single cell ‘omics, multicellular organisation, and cell motility
Requirements: A PhD or equivalent in Mathematics or an allied discipline and an independent, internationally recognised research programme in mathematical and statistical analyses applied to biological mechanisms; A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrated potential to attract such funding; An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
