Position: DTU Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Immune regulation and single cell analysis

Apply online The Disease Systems Immunology group in section for Protein Science and Biotherapeutics at DTU Bioengineering is looking for a talented researcher for a position as Assistant Professor in Immune regulation and single cell analysis. You will become part of the faculty and contribute to improved understanding of the role of single cell diversity within the immune system in human health and disease. In this position you will develop and strengthen the department’s position in human biology and biomedicine with specific focus on single cell analysis and development of novel biotherapeutics for immune-mediated diseases using state-of-the-art model systems and imaging technologies. Responsibilities and qualifications The main focus of the position is to contribute to and develop the department’s competences in human immune regulation with emphasis on the interaction between several interacting factors, such as dietary components, the microbiota, the mucosa, and the underlying tissues in health and disease. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include the following: Active research within immune regulation, with emphasis on single cell technologies, e.g. flow cytometry and single cell sequencing, as well as spatial imaging, and with a clear focus on development of novel biotherapeutics. Implementation of novel experimental techniques and continuous improvement of the lab’s wet lab protocols. Engagement in close collaboration with academic and industry collaborators. Dedication to scientific excellence, including publication in high impact venues. Grant writing and attraction of funding related to your field of research. Contribution to spatial imaging initiatives at the department. Responsibility for teaching activities at the department. Project management and supervision of BSc, MSc and PhD students. You should have the following qualifications: Experience with implementation and execution of state-of-the-art flow cytometry based analysis of human and rodent immune cells. Experience with single cell sequencing would be an advantage. A strong background in translational immunology with emphasis on immune regulation in life-style diseases and/or atopic diseases. Experience with analysis of cohort data and integration of heterogeneous datatypes. Experience with implementation of statistical methods and computational pipelines in a supercomputing environment. T rack record of peer-reviewed publications in the above-mentioned subject areas. Strong writing and communication skills. Track record of teaching at the university level including lecturing, teaching assistant roles, and project supervision. You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both. As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
