The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises seven non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association. WIAS invites applications for a PhD student position (f/m/d) (Ref. 22/23) in the Research Group “Interacting Random Systems” (Head: Prof. Dr. W. König) starting at the earliest possible date. The task is to analyze stochastic models for the dynamics and statics of large interacting systems to support the research directions in the group. An academic university degree (master's or diploma) in mathematics or a closely related field is expected. Knowledge in the areas of stochastic processes, large deviations; statistical mechanics and/or marked point processes would strengthen your application.
