Duties: We are now looking to appoint a Lecturer in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. This is an exciting opportunity to develop an academic career in the field of applied infectious disease epidemiology. The postholder will play a key role in the MSc programme in Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (AIDE) and, as part of the core team, will work to further develop the research-led education programme and quality of teaching for MSc AIDE students as we look to expand our student cohort. The postholder will also develop an independent research career through close interaction with colleagues at IGH, UCL and beyond. They will be supported to bring and/or continue to develop this through personal fellowships with scientific advice, mentoring and a wide range of training opportunities. It is anticipated that 60% of the postholder’s time will be devoted to education and 40% will be focused on research
Requirements: Ideal candidates will have a background in epidemiology and/or public health and/or statistics, with a strong focus on infectious disease research. They will have a good track record of teaching in these areas or closely related subjects with proof of student satisfaction as well as an active research profile at national level; Excellent lecturing, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively organise and prioritise are essential. Experience contribution to public health debates and formulation of policy guidelines would be advantageous
