Text: Research Fellow Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology Salary: £40,611 to £46,119 per annum, inclusive. Applications are invited for a mathematical modeller to join the Centre for Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases and Electronic Health Records Research Group at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). The post holder will work on a project studying the impact of shielding on COVID-19 outcomes in England. The post involves analysing COVID-19 outcomes drawn from electronic health records in the OpenSAFELY research platform, designing a transmission model, and fitting to data. There is scope for self-motivated research within the remit of the larger study. The post holder will join a highly successful and supportive team at the forefront of COVID-19 analysis. They will work in collaboration with medics, epidemiologists, modellers, and data science specialists. The post is funded by the Medical Research Foundation and is available from 1 August 2022 but can be flexible. The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £40,611-£46,119 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
