Duties: An Assistant Research Professor (non-tenure track) position is available immediately at The Pennsylvania State University. The successful candidate will perform research in the Ferrari Lab (theferrarilab.com) in The Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics (cidd.psu.edu) and lead research on a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded project modeling surveillance and vaccination strategies for measles and rubella in low- and middle-income countries. The successful candidate will develop analyses of contemporary measles and rubella surveillance, develop models to support sub-national targeting of vaccination strategies, and work with academic and Ministry of Health collaborators in partner countries on implementation of surveillance programs
Requirements: Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in a relevant field (such as ecology, statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, public health, physics), at least 3 years of post-doctoral research experience, a strong interest in the translation of quantitative epidemiology to practical implementation, and a history of productivity. Familiarity with R is preferred, though the successful candidate will have freedom to develop analyses and models in the language in which they are most proficient. Experience in communicating quantitative analyses to a non-technical audience and experience working with large collaborative groups is an advantage

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of extension.
