The Faculty of Economics, Lugano, is seeking to fill a teaching position for the course “Statistics” (6 ECTS) at the Master in Finance, to be taught in English in the Fall semester 2022. Course profile The objective of the master course "Statistics" is to familiarize the students with statistical tools to interpret and analyze financial data. The topics of the course can include conditional and multivariate distributions, commonly used methods for statistical inference (estimation and hypothesis testing), and elements of time series analysis. Job description and responsibilities The appointee is expected: • to lecture. • to tutor the students. • to prepare and grade the exams. • to supervise and grade Master theses. pagina 2 / 2 Teaching load A 6 ECTS course consists of 4 contact hours every week, on two days, for a total of 56 hours. The Fall semester 2022 starts on September 19 and ends on December 23 2022. The exam sessions take place in January and September 2023. Candidate profile The ideal candidate: • has relevant teaching experience in the field of the course. • has scientific publications in international journals in Statistics or related fields. • is fluent in English. Salary and contract Salary is within a range to be defined based on experience and qualifications. Contracts are annual and renewable.
