Position: Offshore Pricing Analyst - Planning/Portfolio Analytics

Duties: Work across various lines of business to support Underwriters and the Head of Portfolio Management and Business Planning to develop more profitable portfolios: Collaborate effectively with external and internal stakeholders (across the AIG group) related to the business lines such as actuaries, underwriters, portfolio managers and members of finance to perform analyses to assess and optimise portfolios of insurance risks; Assess and quantify the impact of proposed business strategies using scenario testing and other analytical techniques

Talbot has offices in London, Asia Pacific and the United States. This role will assist the Pricing team achieve its goals in the following areas: • Supporting the Underwriting Department in developing more profitable books of business • Developing the Syndicate Business Forecast (SBF) and Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) Responsibilities • Work across various lines of business to support Underwriters and the Head of Portfolio Management and Business Planning to develop more profitable portfolios: • Collaborate effectively with external and internal stakeholders (across the AIG group) related to the business lines such as actuaries, underwriters, portfolio managers and members of finance to perform analyses to assess and optimise portfolios of insurance risks • Assess and quantify the impact of proposed business strategies using scenario testing and other analytical techniques • Identify and monitor key metrics to assess the success of the U/W team in meeting their identified strategic goals • Feedback to the technical pricing team of areas of model development highlighted through the portfolio analysis • Assist in the development of the SBF and SCR • Incorporate the strategy that has emerged from the portfolio profitability studies into the SBF • Assess the SBF against the acceptability criteria used by Lloyds; • Thematic Tests • Logical, Realistic and Achievable Planning • Help develop the key performance indicators to ensure adherence to the U/W strategy • Perform analyses that support the selection of parameters for the Capital Model • Validate these selections according to the Talbot Validation timelines and requirements • Communicate results in a clear and relevant way to enable effective and timely decision making • Document work as appropriate Although not part of the key responsibilities for this role, the candidate may be required to provide ad-hoc support to the pricing team on the following tasks: • Core pricing work such as Individual Account Pricing and Model Development • Assistance with Management Information and Reporting • Support for modernization initiatives • Support for team meetings and meetings with Management What we’re looking for: • Data manipulation and technical modelling skills • Strong skills in using spreadsheets and databases • Commercial or Personal Lines portfolio management experience • Portfolio Optimisation techniques• • University degree (or equivalent), preferably in a technical field (i.e., Science, Mathematics, Engineering) • Knowledge of statistical and numerical analysis techniques applied to business decision making We are an Equal Opportunity Employer American International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates are committed to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and its’ policies and procedures reflect this commitment.
