Requirements: This post would require you to have experience of analysing large health related data sets using statistical software packages, specifically SPSS. The ideal candidate will be confident in the interpretation and presentation of study findings to regulatory bodies and professional and lay audiences to tell the story of the impact of the findings on public health and policy

What is PTMA? In May 2016, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), through its Center for Tobacco Products, finalized a rule - referred to as the ‘final deeming rule’ - that deemed all products meeting the statutory definition of “tobacco product” in section 70 201(rr) of the FD&C Act (21 U.S.C. 321(rr)) to be subject to chapter IX of the FD&C Act. The Centre for Substance Use Research (CSUR) is expert in the design, execution and reporting of the behavioral studies required by FDA in a PMTA. You can find out more info here. What is MRTP? In order to list a tobacco product as a “Modified Risk Tobacco Product” manufactures/brands need to provide scientific evidence to substantiate their modified risk claims. If the application submitted is sufficient in providing substantial scientific evidence in support of the modified risk claims. Our Main Services Home About Services International Markets Funding Areas of Expertise Publications Contact Sitemap Senior Quantitative Researcher (Salary within the range of £50,000 to £60,000) We are looking to recruit a Senior Quantitative Researcher for our Glasgow office to be part of a team expert in quantitative public health research. Since 2014, the Centre has been undertaking regulatory science research, including cross sectional and longitudinal studies, to evaluate the public health impact of electronic cigarettes and other electronic nicotine delivery systems. The successful applicant will contribute to the statistical expertise within the Centre; ensure studies undertaken are executed to a high level of statistical rigour; be experienced in the analysis and publication of quantitative data; and excel at working to a high level of detail in a diverse and often time-critical, high-pressure environment. This post would require you to have experience of analysing large health related data sets using statistical software packages, specifically SPSS. The ideal candidate will be confident in the interpretation and presentation of study findings to regulatory bodies and professional and lay audiences to tell the story of the impact of the findings on public health and policy. Funding has been secured for 5 years initially. If successful, you would be working in a supportive exciting research environment with an attractive salary package which in addition offers incentive-based payments.
