Duties: The Zhou lab in the department of Computational Biology is seeking a postdoctoral trainee who’s passionate about promoting biomedical and cancer research and addressing big data challenges from the unique perspective of scientific data visualization. Dr. Zhou leads a team of bioinformatics scientists and web developers to investigate and implement cutting edge methodologies to utilize multi-omics data in cancer and population science
Requirements: To qualify, the candidate should have a solid background in general biology, as is indicated by a PhD degree and scientific publications. Candidates with domain knowledge in fields such as molecular and cell biology, immunology, cancer, or genetic-epidemiology are highly preferred. Data processing skills using Linux are required. Experience with datasets including high-throughput sequencing, proteomics, drug screening and genetic screening (e.g., DepMap) is preferred. The candidate should be highly interested in developing methodologies to address any of the crucial steps in research using complex multi-omics datasets, including data compression and indexing, query and retrieval, integration, visualization, user interaction, real-time data analysis, and their application in fields mentioned above

The initial appointment will be for 1-2 years and can be renewed for up to a total of 5 years, depending on the candidate’s goals and qualifications.
