Duties: The department of computer Science is seeking to recruit a researcher position at Grade 7 in Artificial Intelligence for Imaging. Duties of the post holder include developing and conducting individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals and projects as part of the overall work of the LEXCI programme. They may be asked to assist in the supervision of student projects, the support of development of student research skills, provide instruction and plan/deliver seminars relating to the research area of LEXCI
Requirements: Applicants must have (or be about to receive) a PhD degree in mathematics, statistics or computer science (or a closely related discipline). The ideal candidates will be experienced in one or more of the following areas: inverse problems, machine learning, statistics, probability theory, Bayesian inference, mathematical imaging, mathematical or computational analysis, optimisation and/or data science. Experience in programming is essential (e.g. Python, Tensorflow)

Duties of the post holder include developing and conducting individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals and projects as part of the overall work of the LEXCI programme. They may be asked to assist in the supervision of student projects, the support of development of student research skills, provide instruction and plan/deliver seminars relating to the research area of LEXCI. This post is available to start as soon as possible but not later than September 2022 and is funded until 31 March 2024 in the first instance with the option of transitioning to an open-ended appointment as a staff scientist within UCL Advanced Research Computing (ARC) Centre at the end of this period, subject to satisfactory performance evaluation. Key Requirements Applicants must have (or be about to receive) a PhD degree in mathematics, statistics or computer science (or a closely related discipline). Appointment Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (salary £32,217 - £33,958 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
