Duties: The main aims of the project are the development of the theory of exponentially algebraically closed fields, and particularly tackling the question of whether the complex exponential field is exponentially-algebraically closed. A further aim is to develop ways of illustrating the problem and the solutions which is suitable for a wider audience. This position would suit a candidate who is able to contribute towards the goals of the project in a short period of time, by working in collaboration
Requirements: The successful candidate will have relevant experience, such as having (or be close to completing) a PhD in a relevant area of mathematics, which is likely to involve model theory, complex functions, or computer illustration of mathematical ideas. The role holder should also be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate complex mathematical ideas clearly in writing and orally and have the ability to use initiative and apply creativity to solve problems

The main aims of the project are the development of the theory of exponentially algebraically closed fields, and particularly tackling the question of whether the complex exponential field is exponentially-algebraically closed.
