Requirements: You will have a BSc (or higher) in Statistics or Mathematics and a strong working knowledge of SAS. We will expect you to be able to successfully contribute to, or manage, a small number of projects, and work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds to explain statistical concepts to them. This means that in addition to your knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis for clinical research, you’ll need to be adaptable, have a keen eye for detail, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and strong collaboration and team-working skills

As the industry Leader, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site, and its Statistics team, has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System and continues to work on a strong pipeline of products in development. We currently have exciting opportunities for Senior Statisticians, at Senior Statistician II / III / Principal level to join our R&D team. This role can be based at our Medical Devices Centre of Excellence in Witney, Oxfordshire, or from our Maidenhead offices. We are keen to hear from candidates looking for an opportunity to make an impact at work and contribute to patient health for the next generation of glucose-monitoring technology. Unlike traditional pharma or CRO work, with Abbott Diabetes Care, you would be involved in end-to-end clinical trials for a small number of global projects that typically last from 4 to 18 months. From supporting protocol development through to preparing publications, you will see the impact of your work as we continue to support the growth of our FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose testing system in new markets, or for new patient populations. In addition, you will be providing key statistical support alongside scientists and engineers to the development of our pipeline products. Alongside this, you will have a demonstrated history of leading and growing teams, managing your reports and supporting their growth both technically and professionally. You will have a BSc (or higher) in Statistics or Mathematics and a strong working knowledge of SAS.
