We are seeking candidates with the research skills and experience required to successfully assume leadership roles in multi-disciplinary research teams and to support and develop grant proposals. The successful candidate will have opportunities to participate in methodological research. Substantive interest and experience is desired in one or more of the following areas: Methods for modern causal inference, behavioral statistics, psychometrics, pharmacological research, clinical trial design, analysis of secondary data, machine learning and high dimensional data analysis, and applications of mixed effects models to health data. The SDBC is the statistical core of the Population Health Research Foundation ( PHR ), which is a multidisciplinary group of biostatisticians, epidemiologists, psychometricians, health economists, survey design researchers, systematic review experts and qualitative researchers engaged in a wide range of collaborations throughout the Health Science Center of the University of Utah. Focus areas of PHR include the design of clinical trials and observational studies, analysis of longitudinal and survival data, epidemiologic modeling, Bayesian analysis, modern causal inference, statistical genetics and genomics, machine learning methods, health economics, survey design, methods for the design, conduct and analysis of systematic reviews, behavioral statistics and psychometrics, and qualitative research. A Ph.D. in biostatistics or a related discipline is required, as well as a demonstrated excellence in collaborative and methodological research.
