Text: Skip to main content Actuarial Sr Consultant Modeling Saint Paul, MN Campus Apply *At Securian Financial the position is called Actuarial Sr. Consultant Overview: This position is part of the Modeling Center of Excellence (COE) in Enterprise Actuarial Services, a service-oriented function focusing on actuarial modeling needs across Securian. A person in this position will be part of creating a supportive and collaborative team environment. They will also be part of cultivating the service mindset, seeking to meet the needs of our internal customers by embracing and demonstrating constructive debate, creative experimentation, and effective prioritization. They will develop a deep understanding of actuarial modeling, across a variety of products. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Model Steward for Securian’s Life Principle-Based Reserving, Life EcVal, and Life GAAP Prophet models Develop more junior modeling associates in areas related to modeling, product, and model purpose Oversee and contribute to day-to-day development of Life models, including being the main contact with model stakeholders Apply model coding and development standards to models while adhering to Securian Financial’s Actuarial Model Governance Policy Support other associates and projects within the Modeling Center of Excellence in alignment of changing priorities Qualifications: Ability to drive for results within a matrix operating model Capable of maximizing resources through work direction with indirect reports Service mindset to work effectively with a variety of internal partners to provide modeling solutions that meet their needs Communicate appropriately to keep stakeholders informed, engaged, and translate technical and detail concepts with audiences outside the immediate area of expertise Effectively lead change through self and others Demonstrate responsibility by ensuring appropriate standards, processes, and controls are followed Preferred Qualifications: Expertise with actuarial modeling (preferably Prophet or similar) Extensive experience with Life products Understanding of Principle-Based Reserving and/or financial reporting (GAAP.
