Position: SME Pricing Actuary

Duties: Enhance data analytics strategies and techniques incorporated into analysis; Collaborate with business stakeholders in identifying opportunities to improve pricing and underwriting process; Manage development, implementation and enhancement of technical rating models including communication of recommendations with Product Managers; Utilise Radar for scenario testing and impact analysis; Undertake detailed analytics and preparation of analysis for Portfolio Reviews of the SME portfolio for Senior Actuaries and Product Managers; Building/updating of rates and rating structures for selected Products; Provide technical input into the development of portfolio management dashboards to enable enhanced monitoring and management of the business; Support ad-hoc business intelligence and other strategic initiatives
Requirements: Minimum 5-7 years relevant actuarial work experience in insurance industry; Tertiary degree in a mathematics related field; Fellow or Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia or equivalent; Strong data analytics capabilities, attention to detail and problem solving ability; Ability to manage competing projects, meet deadlines and manage staff; Ability to work with key stakeholders on IT projects; Experience with SAS, SQL, EMBLEM, RADAR

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Major duties/responsibilities are detailed in the individual’s annual goals. The goals may include items such as: Enhance data analytics strategies and techniques incorporated into analysis. Collaborate with business stakeholders in identifying opportunities to improve pricing and underwriting process.
