Position: Actuary - Pension Risk Transfer (PRT)

Duties: Support the team’s origination, pricing and execution efforts; Play an integral role in pricing processes and ensure that these are completed in an effective risk aware manner and on attractive terms; Ensure junior analyst work is completed to a high standard; Encourage behaviour consistent with our wider values, including Treating Customers Fairly; Work effectively as part of a wider team to truly understand our clients, including any requirements in terms of insurer responses, transaction features or insurer selection
Requirements: Qualified actuary (FIA/FFA); Extensive knowledge of DB pension scheme arrangements including regulatory, investment, legal, and actuarial requirements; Good knowledge of Solvency II and IFRS with respect to annuity products would be beneficial; Previous relevant experience working in a consultancy environment, for a life insurer or for another de-risking provider is required; Strong project management skills with a track record of managing complex projects within short timescales; A track record of effective delegation and supervision of complex tasks

Having agreed over 60 PRT transactions in 2020, representing a total value of over £8bn, we secured the pension benefits of more than 53,000 people worldwide. What you'll be doing We are seeking to recruit a qualified actuary either for our wider PRT New Business team or for the PRT Clients Solutions team. We are happy to discuss which role may be more suitable as part of the application process, depending on your skills and interests. As part of either role the successful candidate will: Support the team’s origination, pricing and execution efforts. Play an integral role in pricing processes and ensure that these are completed in an effective risk aware manner and on attractive terms. Ensure junior analyst work is completed to a high standard. Encourage behaviour consistent with our wider values, including Treating Customers Fairly Work effectively as part of a wider team to truly understand our clients, including any requirements in terms of insurer responses, transaction features or insurer selection As part of the PRT Client Solutions team, the successful candidate would also play an integral role in developing innovative and client led solutions in the pension risk transfer market. What we're looking for Qualifications: Qualified actuary (FIA/FFA) Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of DB pension scheme arrangements including regulatory, investment, legal, and actuarial requirements. Good knowledge of Solvency II and IFRS with respect to annuity products would be beneficial.
