Duties: The post is an exciting opportunity for a researcher with a strong background in statistics, mathematics or machine learning who would like to grow that skill set further. They will develop new Monte Carlo algorithms and or analyze existing algorithms, with a view to developing and better understanding approaches to dealing with the complex and high-dimensional problems typical of the modern user. In addition, they will have opportunity to develop their expertise on dissemination of research through software deployment and interaction with other researchers in Statistical Science and Computer Science
Requirements: PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline and a good understanding of Markov chain Monte Carlo methods are essential. A willingness to help to run a research group and mentor PhD students is desirable

The proposed start date is 1st May 2022 and the post will be funded for 18 months in the first instance (an earlier start date is also possible).
