Studentship Description A Ph.D position for 3.5 years is available in the research area of Theoretical Strong-Field and Attosecond Science at University College London, in the group of Prof. Agapi Emmanouilidou. The goal of this project is to investigate ultrafast phenomena that take place during the nonlinear response of multicentre molecules when driven by intense laser fields. Such processes are the formation of highly excited Rydberg states as well as correlated electron dynamics during multi-electron ionization. We aim to explore the above processes when three or four electrons ionize and fully accounting for the magnetic field component of the laser field. Hence, these studies will reach beyond the current state-of-the-art in Attoscience. This project will involve the theoretical formulation and computational implementation of state-of-the-art semi-classical techniques.
