Text: Skip to main content Post-Doctoral Researcher in Statistical Genetics/Bioinformatics- Taliun Penfield 740 Apply The Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Genomic Medicine is a major strategic initiative at McGill University. CERC is a fast-growing and highly interactive team of internationally recognized researchers whose goal is to accelerate the use of genomics in drug discovery and development through collecting and analyzing whole genome sequencing (WGS), whole exome sequencing (WES), and omics data from thousands of richly phenotyped individuals. The CERC team is working with the McGill Genome Centre, a world-class genomics facility located at the heart of McGill University. The Centre provides a cutting-edge research environment for genomics, epigenomics, and computational biology, and hosts more than 200 faculty, students, and staff. The Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art genomics and computational facilities, including the capacity to generate, store and analyze more than 3,000 Tbp of sequencing data per year. Position Summary: This postdoctoral position will emphasize the following: Development and implementation of statistical genetics methods, Development and implementation of software tools relevant for genetic association studies, Development and implementation of novel methods for communicating/sharing genetic study results. The scope of projects includes, but is not limited to, the following: Analyses of DNA and RNA sequencing data, Metabolomics data, Population genetics analyses, Genome-wide association and phenome-wide genetic association studies (GWAS and PheWas, correspondingly), Genetic risk scores, GGenetic variants functional annotations. Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Human Genetics, Epidemiology or related fields.
