The department is dedicated to education and research. It provides instruction at all levels of mathematics, from undergraduate required courses through an extensive graduate program leading to PhD in several specific areas of mathematics. The department has over 30 tenured/tenure-track faculty members who are actively involved in research and instruction; 5 postdoctoral scholars; approximately 20 career and pro-tempore instructors; over 65 Graduate Students/Employees (GEs) who teach lower division courses; and nearly 100 undergraduate student workers.
