Duties: The inspiring postholder will perform and lead cutting edge research in energy storage batteries and deliver outstanding teaching and studentxperience within the Institute for Materials Discovery at Masters level, and establish industry engagement. The appointee is expected to contribute significantly towards the recently established MSc programmes in Advanced Materials Science as well as the supervision of MSc and PhD students. The appointee will also actively interact with other academic and interdisciplinary units throughout UCL, Faraday Institute and elsewhere in fostering interdisciplinary energy storage research and developing the curriculum and ensuring the delivery of world leading and peer reviewed research and teaching. The post holder will be expected to be proactively, innovatively and exercise a high degree of responsibilities
Requirements: The successful candidate must have a PhD in Materials Science/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering or equivalent in a relevant area, together with a strong track record of international research excellence in Materials Discovery, Energy Storage Batteries and in areas related to materials for structural and functional applications; The appointee will need significant experience in teaching Materials Science/Engineering or a related subject at undergraduate degree level and/or Master level; The appointee will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills relate to staff and students in a research, teaching and learning context. A commitment to acquiring new work-related skills and to maintaining skills and knowledge up to date is also an essential requirement
