Apply online The Department of Physics (DTU Physics) invites applications for a position as Professor in Surface Physics and Catalysis for Sustainable Energy Solutions. The position is a permanent faculty position, anchored in the Section for Experimental Surface Physics and Catalysis (SURFCAT) or the Section for Catalysis Theory (CATTHEORY). We offer you an internationally leading research environment, inspiring teaching of excellent graduate and undergraduate students, and an ambitious DTU innovation ecosystem. We emphasize and encourage collaboration between theory and experiment and across disciplines—and build on using and developing state-of-the art methods and instrumentation. Our research infrastructure embraces a dedicated high-performance supercomputer along with numerous experimental setups for ultra-high vacuum studies, electrochemistry, photocatalysis, and atomic-scale microscopy. Responsibilities and qualifications Your overall focus will be to make significant contributions to the transition to a non-fossil-based energy production through the design of new key catalysts. You will collaborate with nearby colleagues and with academic and industrial partners in Denmark as well as abroad. Your research field includes one or several of these topics: Surface physics studies Electro-catalysis Photo-electro-catalysis Materials synthesis with atom control Advanced characterization techniques Computational and theoretical electro-catalysis Collaboration between theory and experiment You are expected to take a lead role in teaching at BEng , BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. You will be expected to learn Danish and be able to teach in Danish after 3 years. DTU can provide Danish language courses.
