Position: Lecturer/Associate Professor in Quantitative Social Science

Duties: We are now seeking a Lecturer/Associate Professor in any quantitative social science discipline to contribute to teaching and research. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to: sociology, economics, psychology, social policy and political science. You will be expected to enhance our interdisciplinary research portfolio, with a focus on the application of quantitative social science research methods to real world problems. You will be expected to seek research funding from a range of sources, and to be able to generate demonstrable impact and engagement in their work. In addition, you will lead modules on our BSc Social Sciences with Data Science (SSDS) degree and may apply to lead this programme in the future
Requirements: You will have a PhD in any social science discipline, where advanced quantitative methods have been applied together with a solid reputation for research in a social science discipline, evidence of relevant scholarship and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications; In addition, for appointment at Grade 9 you will need to demonstrate a strong track record of success in securing research or consultancy funds and and clear plans for future grant submissions

It is home to seven internationally renowned research units: Centre for Longitudinal Studies Centre for Time Use Research CLOSER EPPI-Centre Quantitative Social Science Social Science Research Unit Thomas Coram Research Unit All of our centres are multidisciplinary, with staff drawn variously from economics, sociology, social policy, demography, psychology, anthropology and social statistics. We promote problem-solving interdisciplinary research on particular themes where we have outstanding scholarship and critical mass, e.g. gender, families, work, inequalities, migration, bio-social interactions. We are now seeking a Lecturer/Associate Professor in any quantitative social science discipline to contribute to teaching and research.
