Duties: We are seeking a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to be based within the Social Research Institute, a multi-disciplinary department comprising 80 academic and research staff from across social science disciplines, including sociology, social policy, economics, psychology, demography and anthropology. With a strong background in using administrative or cohort datasets for research, you will take the lead on a NIHR funded study to generate evidence on the number, duration, and type of health visitor contacts that different families receive across England, how much it costs to deliver different health visiting 'offers' and which might be most promising for helping children living with parental violence or abuse, alcohol or drug misuse and/or parental mental health problems. You will analyse linked administrative data from health visiting and hospital admissions in England (Community Services Dataset and Hospital Episodes Statistics) as well as health visiting and other administrative data held by Local Authorities. You will also design, distribute and analyse a survey of Local Authorities about health visiting provision
Requirements: You will have a completed relevant PhD (e.g. in epidemiology, public health, quantitative social science, mixed methods social science, population health sciences, public health) as well as evidence of high quality research relevant to policy and practice within the area of child health and welfare/Early Years and Evidence of research impact on policy or practice

The appointment is available from 1 September 2021 and is available to 31st August 2025 in the first instance.
