Duties: We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Energy to join a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on means to address the NetZero Carbon Agenda while guaranteeing a safe operation of infrastructure. We are looking for an inspirational and dynamic individual who will conduct research in any area related to Energy and will be able to develop, teach and co-ordinate the Integrated Design Project (IDP). Relevant areas of expertise are energy generation, gas phase diagnostics and energy usage in all life-cycle phases of the built environment. Of particular interest are issues pertaining energy but affecting safety, such as indoor air quality, fire safety or security. We are looking for someone who is passionate about engineering design and able to communicate this to our students and staff. We would also expect the post-holder to maintain and extend extensive links with industrial partners
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field of Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience, experience in Engineering Design, and experience of working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects. Knowledge of the energy field (energy management, combustion, heat transfer, etc.), knowledge of gas phase diagnostic methods, and demonstrated excellence in research, evidenced by a record of publications and research awards, are also essential. Experience with novel engineering technologies, registration as a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent), and international experience, would be an advantage
