Duties: This is an exciting opportunity to join UCL as an Associate Professor in the UCL School of Pharmacy. The successful candidates will be part of the Research Department of Pharmaceutics. This Department currently comprises 17 academic staff together with a thriving community of researchers and PhD students (ca. 80). To deliver this role effectively the successful candidates will need a sustained and world leading portfolio of research and teaching activities in pharmaceutics, strong leadership skills, and the ability to establish effective and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of people
Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent qualification, and be able to evidence an outstanding contribution to the body of knowledge in pharmaceutics. You will have an international research profile with commensurate, sustained, research outputs. A successful group leader, you will have a track record of supervising research students and post-doctoral researchers, and of attracting funding to support your research activities

The successful candidates will be part of the Research Department of Pharmaceutics. This Department currently comprises 17 academic staff together with a thriving community of researchers and PhD students (ca. 80). The UCL School of Pharmacy is part of UCLs Faculty of Life Sciences. Ranked No.1 in London and No. 8 in the world for Life Sciences and Medicine (QS Rankings 2021), the faculty is one of the largest in UCL with over 900 staff and over 3,500 students and a diverse portfolio of research and teaching. UCL School of Pharmacy is a world leader in developing knowledge and delivering teaching in the pharmaceutical sciences, and is ranked 7th for Pharmacy & Pharmacology in the most recent QS Rankings. To deliver this role effectively the successful candidates will need a sustained and world leading portfolio of research and teaching activities in pharmaceutics, strong leadership skills, and the ability to establish effective and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of people. Located close to the main UCL campus in a separate building dedicated to teaching and research in pharmacy, you will have access to modern laboratory space and cutting edge fabrication (spray drying, freeze drying, electrohydrodynamic approaches, hot melt extrusion, etc) and analysis facilities (e.g. X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, particle sizing, electron/confocal microscopies, nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry).
