Position: Lecturer in Statistics and Data Analytics

Duties: The Department of Computer Science and Creative Technologies is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic lecturer in Statistics and Data Analytics. You will be joining a forward-looking interdisciplinary team of statisticians, mathematicians and data scientists located in the Department’s Data Science and Mathematics Cluster. The post will involve teaching students on our MSc Data Science and BSc Mathematics awards, developing research in an area of related expertise, and providing expert teaching in statistics and analytics across the University
Requirements: You will be a self-confident individual capable of self-direction and able to manage a portfolio of work involving teaching and research within a team environment. You will be qualified to PhD level in Statistics, Data Analytics, Mathematics or a closely related subject or alternatively you will have a professional practice background with a subject-relevant Masters qualification and at least three years’ experience working in a professional data analytics environment

The successful candidate will be capable of delivering high quality research, scholarship outputs and/or engaging in knowledge exchange activities. The Faculty has a policy of supporting newly appointed lecturers with allocated time for research. This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed - £300m has been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further. Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
