Duties: As a Senior Statistician/Senior Data Scientist you will conduct an independent research in the filed of Pharmaco- and Device epidemiology using statistical methods to analyse complex data from variety of sources. You will contribute to the strategic direction and setting standards for the work of the group, manage and monitor research resources and budgets and represent the group in national and international research projects, ensuring high quality input in all stages of the study lifecycle. You will contribute to the development of research grants/applications within the group’s remit to obtain funding and you will represent the group as a senior member in on going international collaborations and related meetings. You will be involved in formal supervision of MSc/PhD student/s within the department as well as supervise and line manage more junior statisticians and epidemiologists within the group
Requirements: You will hold a Doctoral or MSc degree in applied/medical statistics or biostatistics with BA degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field. Track record of contributing to and successfully securing research funding, demonstrable expertise in statistical packages, e.g. R, SAS, Stata or SPSS and considerable experience working as a senior statistician are essential. Experience designing and conducting cohort, case-control, and similar studies, good track record of peer reviewed scientific publications and experience in common data model are desirable

We have an exciting opportunity for two Senior Medical Statisticians/Senior Data Scientists to join Pharmaco- and Device epidemiology research group led by Professor Daniel Prieto-Alhambra at the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), Oxford. The NDORMS Pharmaco- and Device epidemiology research group is involved in a number of national and international studies exploring the conditions of use (adherence, compliance, off and on-label use) of a number of licensed drugs, devices, and vaccines for the prevention and treatment of human disease in 'real world' conditions.
