Position: Biostatistician

Duties: Ensure sound statistical planning, analysis, reporting, and publication of clinical trials and the associated research projects (e.g. translational research, quality of life, etc.) as well as registry projects; Provide input, discuss and develop trial proposals with investigators; Review relevant documents (e.g. trial proposals, statistical analysis plans, clinical study reports, etc.); Work with Clinical Data Managers and Statistical Programmers to ensure high data quality; Provide statistical support and advice to other biostatisticians within the Statistics team and to physicians in the SAKK network; Keep up to date with developments in statistics and oncology through literature review, conference attendance, etc; Initiate and perform methodological research in medical statistics when appropriate
Requirements: Ph.D. or Master’s Degree/Diploma in statistics or a related field with at least 2 years of experience as statistician; Experience in clinical trials, in oncology and/or working as a statistical consultant would be an asset; Knowledge in trial design and survival analysis is desirable, but not a recommendation; Familiar with statistical software packages such as SAS, R or S-Plus; Strong problem solving skills and ability to work both independently and in interdisciplinary teams; Very good project management skills, ability to work efficiently in several parallel projects; Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Ability to communicate in German
