Text: Process Operator in Cryogenics (TE-CRG-OP-2021-65-LD) Geneva, Switzerland Contract Company Description At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern. Job Description Introduction Come and join the team of operators of the LHC cryogenic facilities, a unique opportunity to work on machines that constitute nearly half the world's stock of large helium liquefiers. It is challenging and exciting place to work. Take part! CERN is the world's largest particle physics laboratory and its flagship accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider, depends on having an unrivalled set of cryogenic systems on hand to guarantee reliable operation. A team of expert operators tend to these systems 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Typical cryogenic systems comprise compressors, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, vacuum pumps and controls. Process purity is essential. From start-up and routine operation to maintenance support and emergency interventions, no stone is left unturned in the quest for perfectly reliable operation. The experience you will gain as a member of the expert team of LHC cryogenic operators could not be acquired anywhere else, teaching you to work autonomously and to respond to all manner of situations around complex industrial processes. Meet the team!
