Position: Doctoral candidate in the Simulation of Multi-phase Flows

Duties: You will be supporting Working Group 3.51 as follows: Working on the ERC frontier research project entitled “PowFEct” ( https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/947606); Performing high-resolution multi-physics simulations; Carrying out computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of the electrostatic charging of particle-laden turbulent flows; Contributing to the development of the “pafiX” code; Publishing and presenting the results of our research in international scientific journals and at international conferences
Requirements: You have completed your university studies (German “Diplom” or master’s degree) in physics, applied mathematics or an engineering discipline with at least good grades; You have a very good knowledge of CFD; Knowledge of the “Fortran 90” programming language would be an advantage; You are a strong team player with excellent communication skills; You have a good command of spoken and written English; You are able to work autonomously and responsibly; You offer a high level of commitment; You are willing to travel within Germany and abroad within the scope of your assignment

August 2021 The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is the national metrology institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with scientific and technical service tasks. It furthers progress and reliability in metrology for society, the economy, and science.
