August 2021 The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is the national metrology institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with scientific and technical service tasks. It furthers progress and reliability in metrology for society, the economy, and science. With a starting date as soon as possible, Department 8.4, Mathematical Modelling and Data Analysis, is looking for a candidate to fill the following position within the scope of an EMPIR European research project for an initial duration of three years: Post-Doc in applied mathematics, physics or a similar subject specializing in the fields of optimization and machine learning up to Remuneration Group 14 TVöD Bund ○ full-time (39 hours/week) ○ fixed-term contract Your tasks: Department 8.4 performs mathematical research work with a strong relation to applications and metrology and normally cooperates with experimentally oriented PTB working groups as well as with numerous external partners from science and industry.
