Position: Software Developer for Data Science

Duties: The Digital History Advanced Research Projects Accelerator (DHARPA) at C2DH is looking to hire a software developer as part of a research project supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). You will join a growing team of researchers and technicians to develop Lumy, a new free and open-source Electron-based platform for historical research, and its backend Kiara. Like the team leader’s other research software projects Zotero and Tropy, this new software will be a polished, user-friendly platform intended for wide public adoption
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher; Desired experience includes: Python for software development; Data science/data engineering (data orchestration; Jupyter/Jupyter extensions; Apache Arrow; pandas/NumPy); JavaScript for software development (ideally including Typescript); Passionate about open-source software development; Experience and/or willingness to cooperate actively in a larger team of mixed experience

What we expect from you… We seek a highly motivated developer with the following profile: Desired experience includes: Python for software development Data science / data engineering (data orchestration; Jupyter / Jupyter extensions; Apache Arrow; pandas / NumPy) JavaScript for software development (ideally including Typescript) Passionate about open-source software development Experience and/or willingness to cooperate actively in a larger team of mixed experience An interest in digital humanities, digital archives, and preservation will be a plus Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate methodological, organised, pragmatic and effective approaches to the work Bachelor’s degree or higher Good command of English and/or French We offer...
