The central “Office for Partnership, Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT)” aims at bringing UL’s research outcomes to exploitation through partnerships, patenting, licensing and spin-off activities. Building on international best practices and UL’s significant research achievements, UL has already launched several significant partnerships, Proof of Concepts and spin-off companies. We wish to consolidate our existing teams of experienced experts towards a fully-fledged central office, which will closely collaborate with the experts in UL’s entities in the spirit of a distributed hub-and-spoke system. Main responsibilities: Negotiating research collaborations in the SSH domain; Identifying and commercializing of intellectual property (IP), data, and other assets through licensing; Developing new activities to facilitate the valorisation of SSH research results. What we expect from you… Post-graduate qualification (Master) in relevant scientific area. A PhD or MBA is an asset: Preferably in social sciences, humanities or similar (SSH); Track record in: Building partnerships and negotiating research collaboration agreements for the social sciences and humanities; Assessing IP in SSH, EU/national contract law as well as Open-Source and Open Access policies; In-depth knowledge of IP and/or F/OSS and Open Access, incl. databases; Creating value from data; Self-starter capable of identifying and assessing opportunities for creating value with academics and stakeholders to develop knowledge exchange in SSH; Apply legal and contractual skills to help realise collaboration opportunities; Good comprehension of scientific topics, market trends and (collaborative) research projects; Strong organizational and administrative skills; excellent communication skills, diplomatic negotiation style; Ability to work as a team player in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment; Business fluent in English and French.
