Position: Research Fellow: TAKHAYYUL Project South Asia

Duties: Applications are invited for a fixed term Research Fellow role to work on the EU funded ERC Starting Grant; The post holder will be an active member of a team on TAKHAYYUL project including literature searches for publications, management of data, preparation of presentations; Fieldwork in South Asia (Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan) will be required for the successful candidate; The expected start date is 1st October 2021 and the post is funded for 24 months initially
Requirements: The successful candidate will hold a PhD in fields of anthropology, sociology, political sciences, history, religious studies, and related fields for 24 months period; The post holder will be conducting fieldwork on a religious group that is or had been active in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan; The post folder will be working closely with Dr Sehlikoglu and her team and will be focusing on the themes related to political imagination, dreams, and populism. A research interest in one or all of these topics is required
