Duties: We are looking to appoint a wet lab technician to join the laboratory in the Research Department of Oncology at the UCL Cancer Institute (www.ucl.ac.uk/cancer) to work on several ongoing cancer immunosurveillance projects and to help develop future projects. The overall aim of these studies is to shed light on the process of immune recognition and tumour elimination; The successful candidate will contribute to all phases of the scientific project lifecycle, from study to publication and conducting in vitro and ex vivo immunological assays. The role will require helping to establish novel assays and techniques while liaising and coordinating between project collaborators, with other laboratories, and with support and service staff
Requirements: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of independent lab working across a range of techniques and have previous experience with cell culture, molecular biology (PCR, qPCR, cloning, CRISPR), and in vitro immunology assays. A degree in a relevant subject or appropriate experience would be desirable; Experience in immunology or cancer research would be desirable. Previous experience of computational design of CRISPR guides and other informatics skills relevant to wet-lab experiments is essential; The candidate is expected to have excellent written and verbal communication skills to analyse data and write up results in a timely manner, as well as good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with other members of the group; Experience in multiparameter flow cytometry, ex vivo culture/T cell expansion and co-culture is also essential
