Duties: The Research Fellow has a crucial role to play in supporting the study leadership team and wider group of investigators in analysing data arising from the project and drafting technical reports, briefing documents and papers. A key responsibility will be managing a new smartphone data collection tool and working closely with collaborators and the app development company to optimise and revise the tool as the project progresses. You will be a key player in the long-term success of this exciting project, and the role will provide ample opportunity for career and skill development, including writing papers and reports and disseminating the study to a wide audience
Requirements: We are looking for an individual with outstanding research skills, who can manage complex longitudinal datasets and conduct advanced statistical analysis. The post holder should have experience in longitudinal research, experience of multivariate statistical analysis, good knowledge of IT systems and database applications, and a PhD in a relevant field; Strong writing skills are essential. Experience in preparing and documenting study datasets for public sharing would be an advantage. Experience developing or managing smartphone apps for research purposes would also be an advantage. The project is a collaboration between University College London, Ipsos-MORI, the University of Oxford and Birkbeck University. It will be following the lives of 8500 infants born in England from 9 months of age until their 5th Birthday as they complete their reception year at school. The study aims to increase understanding of the key individual, family, neighbourhood and policy factors driving differences in early-appearing inequalities in childrens early cognitive, socio-emotional development and wellbeing You will be joining a dynamic team spanning the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology and the Centre for Longitudinal Studies, at UCL.
