Duties: This post represents an exciting opportunity to join the existing team of research data managers to take forward management of the research data for the cohort studies managed by the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS). Data management at CLS uses a combination of PostgreSQL database, R, SPSS and Python; You will have a good understanding of, and the skills required for, the preparation of complex longitudinal data for research purposes. You will have an interest in interdisciplinary research in the social sciences and be committed to the provision of high quality, well documented data, structured to facilitate research
Requirements: You should have an MSc or equivalent experience in a quantitative science discipline or equivalent professional experience. Candidates with a background in computer science or other analytical areas (e.g. operational research) are also welcome. They will have proven experience in data management, preferably of social science or health data, and be able to manage data using code/syntax in statistical packages. They will also have experience automating, streamlining and improving processes using programming tools, and working knowledge of R and/or Python
