Duties: The UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources delivers world-leading research, teaching and enterprise in the sustainable use of the global resources. The Research Fellow will contribute to two projects, namely i) the LINKS project (ERC Starting Grant); and ii) Financing the Extractive Industry to Contribute to the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals report, funded by the UN Environment Programme, as part of its International Resource Panel (IRP) Work Programme Resources and Finance. The ideal candidate is a highly quantitative, analytical and policy-oriented person, with an expert knowledge of computer programming and network models, and a keen interest in their application to climate finance, sustainable resources and multi-disciplinary research
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a PhD, or be near to completion, in a quantitative field (e.g. Economics, Statistics, Finance, Statistical Physics, Mathematics) with a deep knowledge of research techniques and methodologies related to network models and complexity approaches; A broad knowledge of low-carbon investments, mineral resources, financial markets, current debates and research agendas in the field of climate finance is essential for the role. An interest in climate finance policy implications is desirable

This post is available from 01 September 2021 and is funded until 31 August 2022 in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available. Due to funding restrictions we can only appoint at the lower end of the grade 7.
