Duties: UCL Careers is seeking to appoint a Work Related Learning Officer focused on the School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Mathematical and Physical Sciences (BEAMS) within UCL, supporting undergraduate and postgraduate taught students in developing work-related skills and readiness for their future careers. The Work Related Learning Officer will work under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the BEAMS Work Related Learning Manager, in order set up and run activities for students across the School. Such activities could include industry forums, career taster workshops, training events, work-shadowing opportunities and collaborative projects with other departments. The role holder will engage proactively, and reactively, with relevant academic staff, recruiters, alumni and other professional bodies
Requirements: The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders within academia and industry; They will have the ability to devise, plan and deliver projects within tight time scales; The role holder will have strong organisational skills and be able to plan for immediate and longer-term objectives and deadlines; They will respond proactively to colleague, student and employer needs with a focus on providing an excellent service and take responsibility for their work
