Position: Postdoc (f/m/d)
Institution: Max-Delbrück-Centrum für Molekulare Medizin in der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft
Location: Berlin, Germany
Duties: Our computational research group investigates intra-tumour heterogeneity and cancer evolution with a focus on somatic copy-number alterations (SCNA) and chromosomal instability. We develop phylogenetic inference and genomics algorithms and apply these on large patient cohorts in collaboration with our clinical partners. Our lab contributes to several major international research consortia, such as the ICGC Pan-Cancer Analysis of Whole Genomes (PCAWG), ICGC-ARGO and TRACERx
Requirements: Candidates will have a PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Biology, or related field with a strong background in quantitative research and ideally prior experience in cancer genomics. We are also considering exceptional candidates with a purely theoretical background and a strong drive to tackle biological questions. Successful candidates will show a strong work ethic and should be enthusiastic about working in a highly interdisciplinary environment with tight interactions with our clinical partners. Excellent communication skills are therefore required
