You will strengthen and complement the education oriented to civil engineering in the fields of structural mechanics and structural engineering

Currently, the department has 16 professors supported by lecturers, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral students, and technical staff. In total, the number of personnel is about 115. The department and school have well-equipped research infra and access to national scientific computing services. We are located at Aalto University campus in Otaniemi, Espoo where several research institutions and organizations have their laboratories. Job description As structures are an essential part of the built environment, the safety and aging of the load bearing components are important to the society and for restraining the climate change. The Department of Civil Engineering seeks an expert who is prepared to integrate and transform the development of materials and technologies into high-level scientific research focused on structural engineering to enhance the safety, durability, quality, and multifunctionality of buildings.
