Position: Appointed P&C Actuary and Chief Risk Officer (m/f/d)

Duties: Full responsibility of the bi-annual Reserving Process Reserving of the P&C portfolios; Delivery of Reserving and the Appointed Actuary reports and related analysis; Execute profitability analysis of the Underwriting Portfolio; Ownership of the Reserving Guidelines, incl. updates if required; Production of the SST, in particular full responsibility for: market consistent valuation of all the liabilities, modelling of the insurance technical risk, modelling of the Market Value Margin (MVM), production of the SST report; Responsible for the further development of and adherence to the internal control system (ICS)
Requirements: University degree (Master) in Actuarial Science/Mathematics/Statistics or related discipline; Actuarial qualification finished (or ongoing); In-depth experience in P&C reserving and profound knowledge of SST is necessary, in addition good knowledge of Qualitative Risk Management required; 5 + years of relevant experience in (re-)insurance industry; Robust programming and IT-skills are needed (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SQL); Fluency in English is expected (written and spoken), German considered as a plus

Its Reinsurance portfolio covers all P&C lines of business from cedants in Asia, MENA, Latin America and Africa. You will join a highly professional and international team with a proven track-record of building client relationships of mutual relevance. Your Tasks The responsibilities of this role are the Actuarial reserving, the Swiss Solvency Test, the ORSA and the Internal Control System (ICS). You will report to the Chief Financial & Operating Manager. Actuarial Reserving • Full responsibility of the bi-annual Reserving Process Reserving of the P&C portfolios • Delivery of Reserving and the Appointed Actuary reports and related analysis • Execute profitability analysis of the Underwriting Portfolio • Ownership of the Reserving Guidelines, incl. updates if required Quantitative Risk Management • Production of the SST, in particular full responsibility for: - market consistent valuation of all the liabilities - modelling of the insurance technical risk - modelling of the Market Value Margin (MVM) - production of the SST report • Calculation and Monitoring of Solvency Margin / SST Ratio Qualitative Risk Management • Responsible for the further development of and adherence to the internal control system (ICS) including: - Maintenance and evolution of the existing ICS - Maintenance of Risk Register - Co-ordination of risk and control self-assessments (RCSA) - Senior Management support in operational issue management - Annual ICS Report planning and production • Responsible for the BCM • Contact person for FINMA in respect of ICS and risk management • Responsible for the organization’s ORSA process and report • Supports and provides risk management input for Public Disclosure and Rating Agency communication Your Profile  University degree (Master) in Actuarial Science / Mathematics / Statistics or related discipline • Actuarial qualification finished (or ongoing) • In-depth experience in P&C reserving and profound knowledge of SST is necessary, in addition good knowledge of Qualitative Risk Management required. • 5 + years of relevant experience in (re-)insurance industry • Robust programming and IT-skills are needed (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SQL) • Fluency in English is expected (written and spoken), German considered as a plus • Strong analytical skills and capacity to solve complex problems in a fast and efficient way • Self-motivated, independent working style, and able to withstand occasional time pressure • Hands-on entrepreneurial mind-set • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Interested candidates must be eligible to work in Switzerland, and should send their application letter and CV to our Human Resources department: gregor.schulte@echore.com. • Please note that we can only consider direct applications. 31.03.2021
