Position: (Bio)-Statistician

Duties: Consult clinical researchers of all departments of the University Hospital Basel and associated institutes about statistics, methodology and clinical study design; Be responsible for all statistical aspects of clinical and epidemiological research projects: develop the study design, estimate required sample sizes, prepare randomization lists, write statistical analysis plans and execute them, interpret results and contribute to their scientific publication; Interact with clinical researchers to promote high quality evidence based medicine; Develop and provide tools for the visualization of clinical data
Requirements: An advanced academical or professional degree in (bio-/applied) statistics; Experience in applied (bio-)statistics and/or epidemiology with distinct critical thinking and a goaloriented working approach; Good programming skills, with preference for R; Ability to communicate statistical methods and analysis results to nonstatisticians; Experience in clinical research is an advantage; Knowledge and experience in longitudinal data analysis, marginal structural models or structural equation models is an advantage; Fluency in written and spoken English and German
