Apply online At DTU biosustain, we accelerate and improve strain design and build microbial strains that are used to enhance biosustainability. As a part of this CFB is currently in process of upgrading the core workflows with five components i.e., Genome Design, DNA foundry, ALE, Big Data Engine, and Genome Analytics. DNA foundry supports the build part of the iterative Design-Build-Test-Learn cycle in the biofoundry aiming to create semi-synthetic production strains through targeted genome reduction and modularization. We strive to create a pipeline that facilitates high-throughput gene and pathway assemblies and genome-wide target specific gene editing. What would your role look like As a Scientific coordinator, you will be administrating the overall implementation of various build workflows and ensure reliable operations by working closely with team members and the stakeholders. As a part of this, you will continuously assess the demand of the workflows, prepare, and train the team towards changing requirements. Our expectations of you We are looking for a candidate who hold a PhD in microbial biotechnology, metabolic engineering, bioengineering, or a similar field. We expect you to thrive in a challenging, multi-cultural, cross-functional, and fast-paced environment. Furthermore, you have Experience in project management and stakeholder management Experience in metabolic engineering and physiology of microbes including E. coli and lactic acid bacteria. Experience in synthetic biology tools and method development including nucleic acid extraction, parts assembly, library construction, CRISPR-Cas9, genome editing ideally with E. coli and lactic acid bacteria Experience in operating and managing illumina sequencing platforms and QC methods including fragment analyzer Experience in developing NGS methods using automation Experience in workflow development using external platforms, inventory management and instrument procurement. Salary and terms of employment The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
